Please join us on Monday, December 21, 2020, 5:30 PM at South Main Chapel & Mercy Center as we host our annual Longest Night Service in conjunction with National Homelessness Memorial Day. This year due to the pandemic we will hold the service online. We will remember homeless persons in Anderson who have passed away in 2020 and bring attention to the needs of the homeless population in our community.
South Main Chapel & Mercy Center is a 501(c)(3), faith-based, non-profit organization located in the South Main area of Anderson, South Carolina. We are a church that brings persons together across social boundaries and offers everyone a place of welcome and belonging. We provide outreach and support services to persons who are underserved, economically disadvantaged, and homeless. Since the pandemic started in March 2020, we have served 18,860 carry out or sack lunches and given out 6,200 snack pack bags along with 4,500 Anderson City bus tickets. When the pandemic is over we will return to our practice of in-house fellowship meals. In addition to our meal services, we offer on-site mental health counseling, vocational rehab counseling, nursing care, transportation and housing assistance, addiction recovery referrals, and other case management services for five-hundred individuals in our community.
If you are not able to be with us on December 21, please consider sending us a tax-deductible end of year donation to PO BOX 13545 Anderson, SC 29624, or click the button below to donate online.
Any contribution you can make is greatly appreciated by all for whom our church is a place of help, hope and belonging. God bless you in this season of thanksgiving and joy.
